Our INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR is located in Neustadt bei Coburg, directly at the crossroads between northern Bavaria and the Thuringian Forest, where the original Christmas tree glass ornaments were once born. The glassblower family Müller-Blech has been associated with the glass craft for 15 generations. Today we combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design and produce every single glass ornament according to centuries-old tradition. Since 1987 we distinguish each of our unique pieces with the so-called Sternkrönchen®: Our guarantee for a handmade quality product from Germany, hand-blown and hand-painted. Only the best materials are used by us, from crystal clear glass over genuine sterling silver to the colors. This creates handcrafted glass jewelry of the highest quality and lasting value.

Product Design
Already at the beginning of the year, the trends for the Christmas season after next are being developed at the INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR in the Bavarian town of Neustadt bei Coburg. Forms are modeled, colours and decors are defined.
Mould Construction
The glass mould collection of the Müller-Blech family is unique with approximately 15,000 exhibits from two centuries. In the in-house mould construction historical moulds are maintained and preserved for use, also new, modern ornaments are manufactured.
Silvering
In the INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR, all ornaments are hand-blown according to old craftsmanship. Balls, finials and many more ornaments are formed freely in front of the flame by experienced glassblowers. For all figurative aspects, the evenly heated glass is blown in special shapes with much care and finesse.
Silvering
The distinctive brilliance of glass decorations by INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR is created as a result of the application of a genuine sterling silver coating by hand. Each ornament is filled with a pure silver solution which then covers the inside of the glass.
Painting
Up to 60 steps are necessary to give an ornament its final look. Tiny details such as eyes, pupils and eyebrows are painted with care and a very steady hand by our qualified INGE-GLAS® painters. Every single ornament is painted by the same painter from the first to the last painting step. Thus, every ornament gets its unique personal character.
Perfection
Here, all birds produced in the INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR are either decorated with feathers or provided with the traditional bird tail made of spun glass threads. Crystals and other decorative elements are used in the assembly as well.
Qualitiy Inspection
Each ornament of the INGE-GLAS® MANUFAKTUR is subjected to a final quality inspection. Only when this quality check is passed the respective ornament will be provided with the registered trademark – Star Crown®. This guarantees the hand-blown and hand-painted craftsmanship from Germany.

The “Alte Weihnachtsfabrik” of INGE-GLAS® with its Historical Christmas Museum in Neustadt bei Coburg, Bavaria opens its doors every year from September to January. The eyes of young and old start to shine as soon as they enter the „Alte Weihnachtsfabrik“: hand-blown glass Christmas tree balls in all imaginable colours as well as yearly trends are on an 800 square meter sales floor. Besides, you will also find figural ornaments and the popular Christmas pickle. In addition to Christmas tree decorations, you can expect even more: all kinds of matching decorative and Christmas items – including nutcrackers, smokers, Christmas pyramids and Advent houses – as well as fragrance lamps, candles, Christmas tableware, books, toys for young and old, and delicacies such as chocolate, spiced tea and herbs from German and Austrian manufacturers.
